Up To 52 Active COVID Cases in CK

Chatham-Kent’s COVID numbers continue to rise.

Public Health is reporting 23 new infections since the last update on Friday and 16 recoveries, raising the total active caseload to 52.

There are now five total cases linked to the congregate living outbreak connected with Community Living.

There are still eight COVID patients at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, two of whom are being treated in the ICU.

CKHA officials say the average age of COVID patients is 55.6 years, and none of those being treated for the virus have been fully vaccinated.

Eight Health Alliance staff remain off work due to COVID infection or exposure.

Meantime, a handful of vaccinatation clinics are popping up around CK this week, including tomorrow outside the Downtown Chatham Centre, Wednesday at the Chatham site of the Health Alliance, and Thursday afternoon at KSR International in Ridgetown.
