More details have been released about the impending closure of Chatham’s ServiceOntario office. 
In an emailed statement to the CKXS newsroom, Media Relations Advisor Sandra Bento says the government is working to find a new service provider.
“The service provider who operates the ServiceOntario centre in Chatham chose to exit the business, and the centre will close on August 26, 2019.
We have full intention to bring a ServiceOntario centre back to the community of Chatham. Our ministry has initiated a procurement process to acquire a new service provider to minimize the service gap to community and this work is underway.”
Bento says in the meantime, residents can access services online or through the other offices in communities around Chatham-Kent.
