Construction is coming to a section of Keil Drive South in Chatham.
Municipal officials say starting Monday, crews will begin a road improvement project aimed at improving pedestrian safety and accessibility between Bristol Drive and Tweedsmuir Avenue West, including the roundabout at Keil and Tweedsmuir.
Some of the upgrades include improving islands, crossing locations, and sidewalks at the roundabout, and resurfacing the pavement within the roundabout.
Officials expect the work to be done in late August, ahead of the upcoming school year.
Detour signage will be posted and access to all properties along the affected streets will be maintained at all times. Access to the Chatham Christian School will be available throughout the project.
Four Ride CK bus stops on Route 4 will be out of service for the duration of the project. One temporary bus stop will be installed on Bristol Drive adjacent to the walk path from Sherwood Court. For more information on bus routes, please visit the RideCK web page at www.chatham-kent.ca/transit/.
