There’s been a change in plans for the mass vaccination clinic this week.
Officials say this week’s regular Pfizer-BioNTech shipment has been delayed, so adults 18 and older who are scheduled to get their shot at the Bradley Centre tomorrow will be given Moderna instead. Youth age 12 to 17 will still be given the Pfizer vaccine.
Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech are both mRNA vaccines and are so similar that they are interchangeable.
To ensure maximum protection against COVID-19 and the Delta variant, CK Public Health recommends that Chatham-Kent residents get fully vaccinated, with the first vaccine available to them, as soon as they can. Those wishing to receive Pfizer-BioNTech will need to reschedule their appointment.
The remaining Pfizer appointments scheduled for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday will not be affected.
