A man is facing charges after a vehicle was clocked at more than 65 km/h over the speed limit on Highway 401 in Chatham.
The Ontario Provincial Police said the vehicle was seen travelling over 165 km/h in the posted 100 km/h zone, at around 3:59 a.m. on Sunday.
Police pulled the vehicle over on the highway near Communication Road and conducted a sobriety test. The driver was then arrested before being taken to a local OPP detachment for additional tests.
As a result, Luc Moison, 22, of Lakeshore is charged with racing a motor vehicle and impaired operation of a vehicle with a blood-alcohol level over 80 mg. He has been released from custody with a future court date.
