A youth is facing a charge of manslaughter after the victim of a vicious assault succumbed to their injuries.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said the victim was assaulted at the intersection of Queen Street and Louise Street in Tilbury on June 6. The victim suffered a severe, life-threatening injury and died in hospital on June 27.
As a result, a male youth was arrested on Thursday and charged with manslaughter. The accused, who can’t be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, had initially been charged with aggravated assault.
