Tens of thousands of dollars has been raised to support clients at the Children’s Treatment Centre of Chatham-Kent.
Fund Development Officer Lisa Caron says they’re thrilled with the success of this year’s Festival of Giving, held virtually Saturday night, raising $160,800.
“We couldn’t be more happy with the virtual event ending the way it did. We want to go live next year, it’s going to be great.”
Next year’s in-person event, the first since 2019, is scheduled for April 1, 2023.
“This is our third year going virtual,” Caron says. “Our community is amazing, coming back to another virtual event and raising $160,000? We couldn’t be happier.”
As many as 40 volunteers helped put together Saturday’s event, which included an online silent auction, live auction, special appearances from Foundation Board Members, and recorded performances by local band Face 4 Radio.
“Thank you to our sponsors, virtual guests and volunteers for making this a successful event and raising important funds that we need for our kids,” Foundation President Mike Genge says. “Without the community support, the money raised from this event would not be possible.”
Money raised at the 22nd annual Festival of Giving is earmarked for social work, therapeutic recreation, and music therapy at the Treatment Centre.
