Students with the Lambton Kent District School Board will once again have the option of learning from home next fall.
The public board in Chatham-Kent and Lambton County has confirmed it will continue to offer virtual learning for both elementary and secondary students in grades three through 12.
Students currently enrolled in virtual learning for the 2024-25 school year will be automatically pre-registered for virtual learning for the following year. Students enrolled in in-person learning will be pre-registered for in-person learning for 2025-2026.
However, parents and guardians who wish to transition their child to in-person learning or virtual learning for the 2025-2026 school year must notify their current school by February 28, 2025, to request a programming change
The virtual learning program is intended to be permanent for the entire school year, and officials say once signed up, families will not be able to opt in our out of either in-person or virtual learning through the 24-25 school year.
Virtual school officials will be in touch with registered families during the week of August 25th to arrange for proof of Ontario residency.
