The municipality is inviting the public to take part in a virtual meeting to provide input on a draft of Chatham-Kent’s updated parks and recreation master plan.
The municipality will hold the virtual public engagement session on Microsoft Teams from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. on November 12.
During the online meeting, municipal staff will present a short presentation on the draft master plan vision and strategic directions, followed by an interactive session to collect feedback, receive comments, and answer questions.
Another public engagement session on the parks and recreation master plan was also held in-person on August 1 at the John D. Bradley Convention Centre.
The updated master plan will provide a long-term vision for the municipality’s park system, as well as specific policies and standards to direct day-to-day decisions on infrastructure, services, and programs.
“We have had some great engagement from the community so far,” said Ian Clark, Manager of Parks, Recreation and Cemeteries, in a news release. “This is the public’s chance to shape our 10-year strategy before the draft plan is brought before Council in the spring.”
The previous Parks and Recreation Master Plan was adopted in 2010.
