Officials with Chatham-Kent Crime Stoppers are looking for volunteers to support ongoing crime prevention efforts and assist with upcoming special events.

The non-profit organization is seeking individuals who are passionate about building safe, welcoming communities through fundraising, community outreach, educational initiatives, and events.

Crime Stoppers is currently in need of volunteers to help with its Second Annual Golf Tournament on June 21 at Hidden Hills Golf and Country Club. The event is an important fundraiser for the organization, with all proceeds raised supporting the anonymous tips program.

“Volunteers are at the very heart of our program and make it possible for CK Crime Stoppers to exist,” said Erica McIntosh, program coordinator for CK Crime Stoppers, in a news release. “We see this as a real opportunity for people to be a part of their community and help make all of Chatham-Kent an even better place to live.”

Since 1987, CK Crime Stoppers has provided a way for people to report criminal activity anonymously and receive rewards for their tips. Thousands of dollars were paid out to tipsters in 2024 who helped to clear 120 cases throughout the year.
