Voter Turnout Rises Slightly in CKL and LKM

Despite a snap election in the middle of winter, more local residents made their way to the polls in Thursday’s provincial vote.

PC candidates Trevor Jones and Steve Pinsonneault handily won their respective ridings in Chatham-Kent-Leamington and Lambton-Kent-Middlesex.

Voter turnout in CKL was recorded at 48.4%, up slightly from the 42.3% of voters who cast a ballot in the 2022 election.

In Lambton-Kent-Middlesex, voter turnout sits at 51.4%, up from 44.8% in 2022.

Province-wide, 45.4% of eligible voters turned out at the polls. In 22, the Ontario voter turnout rate sat at 43%, considered the lowest in Ontario history.
