Voting is now open for the final round of the Kraft Hockeyville competition.

Although none of Chatham-Kent’s bids made it through, a neighbouring community is rallying the troops.

West Lorne is up against three other communities: Saint-Anselme, Quebec; Maple Ridge, BC; and Ste. Anne, Manitoba. The winner will skate away with an NHL game and $250,000 in arena upgrades. Each of the three runners-up will receive a consolation prize of $25,000 for arena upgrades.

New York Islanders star Bo Horvat is voicing his support, posting a message online this week saying he “will always be a West Lorne Comet” in his heart. Horvat grew up in Rodney, just down the road from the West Elgin community, and was a member of the 2003 Silver Stick championship team.

Online voting for the grand prize winner opened at 9 o’clock this morning and runs until 5pm Saturday afternoon. CLICK HERE to cast your vote.
