Despite a slightly lower turnout over past events, officials are pleased with the results of this year’s Walk a Mile in Her Shoes fundraiser.
Early figures show Saturday’s walk in downtown Chatham raised almost $20,000, although more money is still coming in.
Proceeds benefit the Chatham-Kent Women’s Centre, which fields thousands of calls a year and provides both residential and outreach services.
