Local residents will be lacing up their running shoes this weekend in support of Chatham-Kent families living with dementia.
As the Alzheimer Society of Chatham-Kent celebrates its 40th anniversary, the annual Walk for Alzheimer’s is set to take place Saturday, May 30 at Kingston Park in Chatham, running from 10am until noon. This year’s event will include live music, a barbecue, petting farm, and other family-friendly activities.
Awards and prizes will be offered again to the Top Individual, Team, and Retirement/Long-Term Care Home Fundraisers.
Tickets will also be on sale for the Alzheimer Society’s 50/50 draw.
The Alzheimer’s Society has set its fundraising goal at $75,000 to meet the increasing demand for services. All proceeds stay in Chatham-Kent and support those affected by dementia, including care partners and family members.
