Local residents are expressing their concerns about a proposed wind farm in the Wallaceburg area.
The Wallaceburg Area Wind Concerns group have sent another letter to the Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change, asking them to halt the Otter Creek application.
The group wants the project to provide more information about the potential impacts the turbines may have on nearby residents and groundwater.
Violet Towell, spokesperson for the group, says “We’re very concerned that there is not enough information for two critical aspects of this power project – noise and the foundations.”
Towell says they’ve only had one response to the several letters they’ve sent so far:
On behalf of the Ministry, I am pleased to acknowledge receipt of your letters and to confirm that a reply will be sent to you as soon as possible. In the meantime, [please contact us] if you have any questions.
Towell says, “We have never received anything back in terms of a reply – just an acknowledgement.”
Their most recent letter was sent to the Ministry on Tuesday.
