Charges have been laid against a Wallaceburg man following a break-in.
Chatham-Kent Police say a homeowner noticed something was amiss shortly before noon yesterday when his dog started barking, and found a would-be thief inside his home.
Authorities say the accused got inside through an unlocked back door and tried to steal some hedge clippers.
However, when the homeowner confronted the man, he dropped the clippers and fled.
The 36-yer-old was apprehended by police a short time later and charged with break and enter, and possession of stolen property.
