A joint investigation has landed four people with drug trafficking charges.
A search warrant was carried out at a home on Dufferin Avenue yesterday morning, involving officers from the Lambton County Community Street Crimes Unit, the OPP’s Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau, and the Chatham-Kent Police Intelligence Section and Critical Incident Response Team.
Authorities say the search warrant was the result of ongoing investigations and the state of emergency declared on Walpole Island to help tackle a drug epidemic in the community.
Roughly $5000 worth of fentanyl was seized and four people arrested – two women, one from Sarnia and the other from Wallaceburg, and two Wallaceburg men.
The accused have since been released from custody and will have to appear in court next month.
