The Wallaceburg Concert Band is in the running for a grant from Dowler Karn. 
The company is holding an online contest to support charities and non-profit groups in southwestern Ontario, giving away a total of $75,000 in categories including activities and sports, arts and music, health and wellness, and social services.
The concert band is in need of new instruments including one big-ticket item, a set of timpani drums.
In order to be considered for a $10,000 grant, nominated projects have to have at least 50 people sign up as an unpaid sponsor to show there is enough community support.
