Some changes for patients coming to the Wallaceburg site of the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance.

CEO Lori Marshall says with all of the construction and improvements underway, there are some issues around the entrances.

“Because of where the construction is currently happening and the proximity to the emergency entrance, we’re essentially closing that entrance, locking that door,” Marshall explains. “We’re asking everybody, whether you’re coming in for emergency services, have to come in for some of our rehab services, or ambulatory services, everybody needs to use the main entrance facing Margaret Avenue.”

All services at the Wallaceburg hospital, including the emergency department, are still open for business.

“We’re relocating our screeners, this will remain over the coming months while we complete that construction back there,” Marshall says.

The hospital’s new $7.3 million power plant is expected to be finished in October.
