Area veterans and local residents will be gathering at the Cenotaph in Wallaceburg tomorrow to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Vimy Ridge.
The ceremony begins at 11am.
100,000 Canadians fought in the historic World War I battle on April 9th, 1917, with almost 3600 killed.
Similar events are being held across the country to mark the battle, which is now seen as one of the pivotal points not only in the war, but in Canada’s international reputation.
