A Wallaceburg man with a history of violence is in trouble with police once again following a domestic disturbance.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers responded to the disturbance at a Wallaceburg residence at around 9:20 a.m. on Wednesday.

Authorities said witnesses reported hearing shouting and sounds of distress coming from the home, including a man making aggressive threats toward a woman.

A suspect was located nearby in a parked vehicle and was arrested. Officers also learned that he had previously been convicted of assault and uttering threats and was bound by multiple probation orders prohibiting him from being within 100 metres of the victim’s home, work, or school.

A 35-year-old Wallaceburg man is now charged with one count of assault and one count of uttering threats to cause bodily harm. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
