A late night fight has landed a Wallaceburg man with charges.
Chatham-Kent Police were called to Margaret Avenue just after 10 o’clock last night, and say a group of people were involved in a physical altercation.
Officers arrived to find a man, who they say was intoxicated and belligerent and had visible injuries on his face. Officers also found a woman with visible injuries on her body.
Investigators say the man had been drinking through the day and become increasingly combative with neighbours, and allegedly assaulted the woman.
When officers tried to arrest the man, he allegedly put up a fight and tried to run, but was taken into custody after a short foot chase.
The 33-year-old is charged with assault, resisting arrest, and escaping lawful custody. He was held in custody until he sobered up.
