Wallaceburg’s museum is getting an upgrade thanks to a sizeable grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF).

The Wallaceburg & District Museum has received a $50,000 operating stream grant from the OTF, which will be used to purchase upgraded computer hardware and software. As well, the grant will fund several improvements to the adjoining museum parkette.

“The Wallaceburg & District Museum has been and will continue to be a prominent fixture in the south side neighbourhood of Wallaceburg,” said Henry Van Haren, president of the Wallaceburg & District Historical Society, in a news release. “With our staff and volunteers, our community’s help and support from the Ontario Trillium Foundation over our many years here, our facility has continued to improve and grow to preserve and share the amazing history of this community.”

The improvements are expected to be completed in the fall and will improve access to programs and events at the museum.
