It was a night of celebration for sports glory old and new at the 32nd Annual Wallaceburg Sports Hall of Fame Dinner and Induction Ceremony.
The storied history of local sports relics and legends were honoured alongside the shining stars of a bright future throughout Wallaceburg and Chatham-Kent.
Highlighted by guest speakers Pat “Whitey” Stapleton and Shaun Suisham, the capacity crowd at the U.A.W. Hall was reminded of it’s roots and it’s possibilities.
Inductees into the Hall of Fame this year included Ken McPhail (Male Athlete), Cheryl (Tooshkenig) Mitchell (Female Athlete), Don Martin (Builder), Coach (Randy McNeil) and the 1981 and 1982 Whiz Kids Slo Pitch team.
Annual award winners this year included: Athlete of the Year – Deanna Kerkhof; Outstanding Achievement – Rob Pollock and Clint Lamarsh; Coach of the Year – Kurtis Lubbers, Ray Aarssen/Sports Hall of Fame Scholarship – Erin Sarapnickas and Builder – 99.1 CKXS.
