A beloved community facility in Wallaceburg is shutting its doors this summer for much-needed renovations.

The Wallaceburg Sydenham Pool will be temporarily closed from July 31 to September 8 while improvements are made to the men’s and women’s changerooms, as well the front desk area.

“We are thrilled that our facility is receiving these much-needed upgrades,” said Amy Wadsworth, Manager of Recreation Services and Community Engagement, in a news release. “The improvements being made to the Wallaceburg Sydenham Pool will ensure that it continues to be a safe and enjoyable space for all residents.”

During the closure, all pool memberships will be put on hold to ensure that members are not charged. Swimming lessons at the Wallaceburg Sydenham Pool will also resume in the fall.

The municipality’s seven outdoor pools and one indoor pool will remain accessible to all members of the community for free recreational swims all summer long.
