Wallaceburg’s Base Line Bridge will be closed for repairs for a three month stretch starting this Monday.
The Municipality of Chatham-Kent has secured a contractor for the rehabilitation of the Base Line Bridge in Wallaceburg.
Commencing on Monday October 19, the Base Line Bridge will be closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic until approximately January 15, 2021.
After that date, the bridge will be opened to vehicular and pedestrian traffic until the Spring of 2021. An additional bridge closure is required in the Spring of 2021 to complete specialized paving work. Details will be provided at a later date.
A navigational opening of 2.6 m x 12.0 m will be maintained throughout construction for smaller boats only.  All other marine traffic will not be able to pass after Sunday October 25, 2020 at 7pm.
