The Convoy Of Courage is changing scenery on Saturday, making its way to Chatham, with the goal of lifting the spirit of local health care, front line, essential workers and the community at large.
Jennifer Eagleson has helped organize the convoy, inspired by a similar event in Kincardine as well as a recent Canadiana movement surrounding The Tragically Hip song “Courage”.
A convoy of vehicles properly physically distanced, will make their way through Chatham to show some local love in these trying times.
“The key is to spread joy, courage, happiness and to also say thank you to those who have to work during this crisis,” says Eagleson. “Especially to our healthcare workers, first responders and so on. We want to show them how much we care and that we’re thankful for them.”
Those taking part are asked to include signs and banners showing their love for front-line workers and the community at large.
The convoy will leave Galaxy Cinemas in Chatham at 3pm. The route will take those participating by the CKHA, a number of local long term homes, police and fire stations, EMS headquarters and more.
Organizers remind everyone to NOT leave their vehicle. Properly distance yourselves. And please don’t carpool.
