Plans to redevelop Wallaceburg’s south side continue to move forward.

A spokesperson for consulting firm Fotenn says an online survey last spring garnered 150 responses, and a background report with an overview of government considerations has been completed.

Now, the group is moving into the design phase, including a land use concept to be shared with area residents during a public workshop, although the date and format for that meeting have yet to be announced.

The Secondary Plan for Wallaceburg’s south side is meant to encourage the gradual transition of new land uses over time through reinvestment in the neighbourhood by stakeholders from the private, public, and non-profit sectors.
