Walpole Ferry Not Permitting Vehicles During July 4th Celebrations

Anyone planning to take their vehicle across the border on the Walpole-Algonac Ferry this 4th of July weekend may be turned away.

Due to the Algonac Pickerel Tournament and a planned parade and fireworks, the ferry will be unable to transport vehicles between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Friday, and again between 6:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday. However, passengers travelling on foot during these times will be permitted.

If rain causes any of the events to be delayed, an update with additional service interruptions will be posted by the ferry service.

The ferry will resume normal operations on Sunday.
