Some changes to the Walpole Island Ferry schedule next week.
Officials say the ferry between Walpole and Algonac, Michigan will be running on an altered schedule Monday due to a routine safety inspection and port assessment by Transport Canada.
The ferry will run 6:30 until 9, then shut down from 9am until 3, with service resuming from 3 until 10 at night. Crews were expected to continue their work on Tuesday, but finished ahead of schedule.
Regular full-day service will resume Tuesday morning.
Meantime, as a new board of directors takes over running the Walpole Island Ferry, officials say a new website and social media pages are being developed and should be online soon.
