The Walpole Island Ferry has been forced to limit its service to standard-size vehicles due to damage to its dock.
Last week, officials said due to the Algonac Pickerel Tournament and planned fireworks and a parade for the Fourth of July, the ferry would not be able to transport vehicles.
After a large vehicle caused structural issues on the dock, the ferry was only able to accept passengers on foot during scheduled hours over the weekend.
On Monday afternoon, the ferry service announced it is now accepting standard-size vehicles and motorcycles. However, large or heavy vehicles, including trailers and motor homes, will not be permitted.
