The smell of smoke may be lingering over parts of Walpole Island First Nation this morning.
Firefighters responded to large landfill and dumpster fire Tuesday evening.
Officials with the Walpole Island Fire Department say the blaze required multiple loads of water and a prolonged effort from fire fighters to fully douse the flames.
With very little wind, residual smoke from the fire has not fully cleared away.
Community members are being reminded not to burn garbage at landfills.
