Walpole Island Pedestrian Struck and Killed

Police are searching for suspects following a tragic hit and run on Walpole Island First Nation.

Shortly before 3 o’clock Sunday morning, emergency crews were called to a collision on Austin Road, where authorities say a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle, which then fled the scene.

The victim, a 47-year-old Walpole Island resident, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Lambton County OPP and Walpole Island First Nation Police continue to investigate.
