WAMBO 2019 kicks off tonight with the opening ceremonies at the Civic Park and the Terry Glover Memorial Cruise 5pm gathering at Canadian Tire.
Boats will begin to arrive throughout the day today and somebody who is going to be in the thick of it it will be Local WAMBO Ambassador, Kiera Ritchie. She says while you’re enjoying the weekend, remember, it’s all about community and couldn’t be done without all the volunteers.
“I’ll be walking around talking to people, seeing how things are going and getting that feedback to make WAMBO better for next year,’ says Ritchie. “It helps build your community as young people, seeing young people to get involved, gets them to think they should get involved. It helps with getting into university too and scholarship applications.”
There’s a movie for kids at Southside Harbour Court, live music downtown and more.
