A report of a suspected stolen vehicle has landed a local man with charges.
Officers were called to Maryknoll Road in Chatham shortly before 10 o’clock Thursday morning to speak with the owner and told the vehicle had been recovered on Forsyth Street.
Authorities were able to identify the man who had the vehicle and tracked him down a short distance away. The accused, a 30-year-old man, was also wanted on several outstanding warrants.
The suspect has been charged with failing to comply with a probation order, failing to comply with obligations under the Sex Offender Information Registration Act, failing to comply with the sex offender registry, unauthorized use of a credit card, failing to attend court, possession of stolen property and theft of a motor vehicle.
The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing.
