While summer may be off to a slightly cooler start than normal, Chatham-Kent residents will be basking in the heat in no time.

Environment Canada meteorologist Geoff Coulson says things could cool and damp over the next few days.

“We’re going to be watching a system come in from the american Midwest it’s going to give us that cloud and shower and maybe some thunderstorm activity, especially on Friday and Saturday . Then the sun does come out for next week and temperatures bounce back to somewhat warmer values,” notes Coulson. “The longer range forecast Temperatures start to bounce back finishing off the month of June and much of July is for temperatures to be somewhat warmer than normal and the first look at august also a little bit warmer than normal.”

Coulson says we can expect a fairly traditional hot, humid summer in southwestern Ontario.
