As the weather gets warmer, Chatham-Kent Police are warning residents to secure their properties.
Authorities say they’ve received more than 13 break and enter calls since Monday, and this number increases when the weather gets nicer.
Officers say you can protect yourself and your property by locking your doors and windows, and keeping your travels plans off social media.
If you’re going on vacation, ask a trusted neighbour to watch your home and to make it look ‘lived-in’ by picking up mail and flyers, and parking a neighbour’s vehicle in your driveway.
Police say to call them if you see suspicious vehicles or people in your area.
