After significant rainfall earlier in the week, levels on local rivers and streams are beginning to fall once again.
Officials with the Lower Thames Valley Conservation Authority say some areas of the watershed saw between 40 to 50mm of rain overnight Tuesday and into Wednesday,
Water levels on the smaller watercourses around the watershed have now peaked and are beginning to drop after the rain. There are still some areas of ponding, standing water and localized flooding which should be draining away.
The lower Thames River has also peaked, however conservation officials say levels are still quite high, and are expected to remain that way for the next few days.
Residents are reminded to take extra caution and avoid the river, ditches, and streams as slippery banks and fast moving cold water can be dangerous.
