Water Restrictions Lifted In Chatham

Water restrictions in Chatham have been lifted following the electrical issues at the local treatment plant.

The Municipality of Chatham-Kent said repairs have been successfully completed and water pressure has stabilized at the Chatham Water Treatment Plant.

The treatment plant experienced an electrical issue with the main power feed on September 21, followed by the failure of the backup generator. This resulted in a drop in elevated water tower levels and a temporary reduction in water pressure throughout the distribution system.

The facility is now treating and distributing water at full capacity, and all previous water restrictions are no longer in effect.
