Water Wells First Says ‘No’ to Municipality’s Offer to Test Water

Eighteen Chatham Township well owners are refusing the Municipality’s offer to test their well water.

At a press conference on Greenvalley Line outside Dresden this morning, Spokesperson Kevin Jakubec says they don’t trust the Municipality:

“How do you trust them? They’re invested with the North Kent Wind 1 Project. Why would be trust them? We’ve been raising this issue with them constantly”, says Jakubec.

Jakubec says they came to this decision after several Water Wells First meetings.

The Municipality offered to test their well water at no cost in late August, after five families had come forward with complaints about sediments in their water. The Municipality said each well owner would be able to choose who would sample and test the water, from a list of accredited laboratories.
