a group of environmental advocacy groups are trying to raise more awareness about issues facing Lake Erie.
Environmental Defence Canada, Canadian Freshwater Alliance, and Freshwater Future Canada are encouraging area residents to use the hashtag #WeAreLakeErie on social media today.
The goal is to create a rallying cry to protect the lake from harmful algae blooms and protect drinking water.
This is the third annual We Are Lake Erie Day the groups have hosted.
