We Stand On Guard For Thee

A military Chaplain-in-training is working on a way to get all Chatham-Kent residents involved in Remembrance Day.

Reverend Mark Sceviour of Christ Church Chatham says they want to have someone standing guard at the Chatham Cenotaph for the 150 hours leading up to November 11th.

He says this might be the first time it’s ever happened in Canada.

“It’s a huge undertaking, 150 hours straight,” Sceviour says. “Whoever’s out there at 3am one evening, they’re going to see what it’s like to sacrifice and maybe somewhat hearken back to what it was to be a solider, sailor, airmen in one of our wars.”

Sceviour says they’re looking for organizations and community groups to form teams, with each individual completing a 25-30 minute shift.
