A weekend crash on the 401 is being investigated by the SIU.
The crash occurred near Comber, and sent five people, including an OPP officer to hospital Saturday afternoon.
All suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Police say the incident involved an OPP cruiser that was struck from behind.
That crash closed the busy roadway for hours as the investigation took place, and now it’s being handed over to the province’s special investigations unit.
The SIU invoked their mandate on Wednesday and will be handling the investigation.
