Wesley Prepares To Move On

The upcoming municipal election will be the first in recent memory without Jeff Wesley’s name on the ballot.

Wesley confirmed in writing today what he’d been saying for the past year, that it’s time to move on.

In a news release, he says he returned to council in 2010, “To battle for the survival of our hospital and with the full support of the community our hospital is on a solid footing and looking to the future,” adding, “Whether the issue was our hospital, our water supply, our pool, our walking bridge or many others I always tried to listen to what our community wanted and never shied away from taking on the toughest issues our community faced.”

Wesley has spent 25 years in politics, starting as a municipal councillor in Wallaceburg from 1985-1988, Mayor of Wallaceburg from 1991-1997, and a CK councillor between 1998-2000 and again 2010-2018.

Wesley also ran as a Liberal candidate in the 2006 federal election in Lambton-Kent-Middlesex.
