According to the Chatham-Kent Public Health Unit mosquitoes found in the southeast end of Chatham have tested positive for the disease.
Health officials say that very few people infected with the virus show symptoms.
Symptoms can include a flu like illness of fever, aches and fatigue.
People that suffer a more severe case can get a stiff neck, nausea, lack of coordination or paralysis and should seek medical attention.
The chances of getting West Nile Virus from an infected mosquito are low.
