It’s going to be a blustery weekend in Chatham-Kent.

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement with rain and high winds in the forecast tomorrow.

With wind gusts of up to 80 kilometres an hour in some areas, officials with the weather office say there may be some damage to tree branches and the potential for power outages.

The Lower Thames Valley Conservation Authority has also issued a flood watch for the region due to the strong winds in the forecast.

Conservation officials say there is a risk of flooding in low-lying areas along the Lake Erie shoreline including Rondeau Bay, along with a risk of shoreline damage and erosion.

Flooding is likely to occur along Erie Shore Drive in Chatham-Kent.

The rain and wind should taper off Saturday night.
