Several municipal services will be closed starting this weekend as Chatham-Kent celebrates the Christmas and New Year’s holidays.

All municipal offices will be closed starting on December 24 until December 26, and again starting at noon on December 31 until January 2. Entegrus and the Public Utilities Commission will be closed an additional two days in the new year, reopening on January 4.

CK’s public libraries will be closed December 24-27 and from  December 31-January 1.

The Chatham-Kent Museum and Thames Art Gallery are closed from December 24-26 and December 31 to January 1. The Milner Heritage House will also be closed the entire holiday week from December 24 – January 1.

Ride CK transit services will not be operating on Christmas Day, Boxing Day or New Year’s Day.

The Public Health building at 177 King St. E. in Chatham will close at noon on December 24 before reopening on December 29. And then again at noon on December 31 until on January 4.

Provincial offences court will close at noon on Christmas Eve until January 4. During this time, tickets and fines can be paid online at www.paytickets.ca.

All municipal arenas will be closed from December 24–26 and on New Year’s Day. Free skates will be held on December 31 at the Blenheim, Thames Campus, Dresden, and Tilbury arenas, while all other arenas will be closed.

There will be no schedule changes to garbage and recycling collection. Lead and yard depots will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
