As work near the site of the August 26th explosion in Wheatley ramps up, municipal officials have put home visits on hold.

For safety purposes, temporary access to homes has been suspended, but officials say if there is any downtime in scheduled work at the site, scheduled appointments will resume when possible.

Entegrus crews were on site earlier this week removing hydro poles before demolition work can begin on Erie Street North.

Excavation is taking place at 19 and 15 Erie Street North and 9 Talbot Trail West to try to find any links between two potential sources of hydrogen sulphide that’s been wreaking havoc on the downtown core since early June.
