
While details about the incident remain scarce, charges have been laid after a Leamington man was injured during an assault in Wheatley.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers were called to a Walker Avenue address on Thursday shortly before 4 a.m. following an altercation between two men involving a weapon.
Police have declined to comment on the type of weapon used in the assault.
A 45-year-old Leamington man was taken to hospital for medical treatment following the incident. While authorities have stated that the man’s injuries were non-life-threatening, police officials would not disclose if they were serious or minor in nature.
A 65-year-old Wheatley man was arrested and is now charged with assault with a weapon and assault causing bodily harm. He was taken to police headquarters and held for a bail hearing.
