Fraud charges have been laid against a Comber man, accused of trying to scam campers in Wheatley.
Chatham-Kent Police say on three separate occasions last year, women at Camper’s Cove were approached by the suspect, who tried to sell them a hardtop awning for their trailers.
Authorities say the man collected money from his victims and told them the work would be finish in time for this summer. However, the work was never done.
Yesterday, the accused, a 59-year-old man, was arrested and charged with three counts of fraud under $5000.
